![]() While Sarah Tregay used poetry in Love & Leftovers, Stephen Emond incorporated art and and comic strip illustrations in his second novel after Happyface, making it also slightly different from other YA novels. It took me a few pages to adjust from novel-in-verse to conventional narrative. Winter Town was the next YA novel I read after Love & Leftovers. Besides, I thought it would be a trip reading this in the winter. The cover didn’t strike me as anything spectacular, but I am always intrigued by stories about best friends. I remember leaving Barnes & Noble when I spotted the cover. I bought Stephen Emond’s Winter Town last December, the last book I purchased in 2012.
